MADE FOR MAC

Your apps. Your business.

Understand what Sofla’s website stores, how the sample launcher works, and the difference between local native app history and website hosting requests.

This website

This site does not include analytics scripts, advertising, tracking pixels, an account system, or a mailing-list form. Visiting a comparison or guide does not send a search query to Sofla.

The browser stores your explicitly chosen light or dark theme in local storage under the key sofla-theme. That preference remains until you change it or clear the site’s browser storage.

The interactive launcher

The website launcher uses a fixed sample catalog. It does not inspect installed apps, read files from your computer, or launch local software.

Search text and simulated recent launches stay in the current page’s memory. Reset clears the demo state, and reloading the page starts a new session. The demo does not save this history in local storage or send it to an application server.

The native Mac app

Sofla’s native app does not collect analytics. Its recent-application history is stored locally and can be configured in General settings, including whether launches are recorded.

Optional software update checks use Sparkle to contact GitHub Releases. GitHub receives standard request information, such as your IP address and the updater’s app/version headers. Sofla verifies signed updates before installation. Your app catalog, searches, folders, and recent-app history are not included, and Sparkle system profiling is disabled.

You can control automatic checks and installation in Sofla’s Settings > Updates.

The website’s sample catalog and temporary history are separate from the native app’s installed applications and organization data.

The hosting provider may process standard request information, such as an IP address and browser request details, to deliver and protect the website. That is distinct from adding product analytics to the page.

Links to Apple, Raycast, Alfred, or Sofla’s GitHub repository take you to other websites with their own privacy practices. This page describes Sofla’s current website behavior. The native app’s update requests are covered above.
